Install and connect the extension

The TinyLink extension shortens the page you are reading without switching tabs, and puts your short links in your browser toolbar. It works on Chrome and the browsers built on it: Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi. It connects to your account with an API token, included in the Pro and Business plans.

Install and connect the extension
First launch: the extension asks for an API token.

Steps

  1. Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store, then pin it: click the puzzle piece icon to the right of the address bar, then the pin next to TinyLink.
  2. In TinyLink, open Library, Integrations tab. On the TinyLink API card, click Generate a token, or Manage if the environment already has one.
  3. Tick at least the Write scope: without it, the extension cannot shorten links. Add Delete if you want to delete links from the extension.
  4. Copy the token (it starts with tl_), open the extension and paste it into the API token field.
  5. Click Connect: the extension checks the token, shows the environment's name and opens on the Shorten tab.

What the extension keeps, and where

The token, the selected environment and the chosen QR code template are stored in your browser, nowhere else. The token is only sent to the TinyLink API. The extension reads the tab's address only when you open it, and only sends it if you shorten it: no history, no analytics. The details are in the privacy policy.
